The digital drawing
What is digital drawing:
The digital drawing is like a drawing on paper or board but the support is different.
Instead of drawing on a sheet or a board, the drawing is done on a specific screen called: graphics tablet.
Instead of a pencil or a brush, the tool is a stylus which allows the screen to detect the line and the pressure of the hand and converts the line back into a computer format.
Why did you choose digital drawing:
For my Céline workshop, I chose to favor digital drawing forits various advantages:
-
Being able to offer a drawing at a low price: thanks to digital technology, a designer's drawings become much more affordable. Even if a drawing represents hours or even dozens of hours of work, once made it can adapt to different sizes or different supports and thus be reusable.
-
Adaptability according to everyone's tastes, wishes and budget: as explained above, the digital format can be reproduced in various formats and media.
-
Practicality: thanks to the computer tool, if you make a mistake on a line or a color, don't worry, just click on a button to go back and erase your mistake, the advantage of overlays Layers also allow you to avoid missing a drawing and having to redo everything.
This advantage allows me to become more demanding and perfectionist in my workand helps me a lot to improve myself.
-
Fieldpossibilities: depending on the drawing software you use, there are a multitude of pencils, brushes, colors, gradients, effects that you can use which makes drawing both fun and yourself a perfectionist.
The inconvenients :
-
The cost: A good computer tool is expensive, just like drawing software.
-
Contact with matter: for my part, I really like drawing for contact with matter. When I draw in Indian ink, I make my own ink and the feeling of the pencil on the sheet is also a pleasure.
Which means that, even if I mainly work on the computer tool inl'Atelier de Céline, I also draw and paint on sheet or board.
